South County Chorus (SCC) was organized in January 1992 by a core of individuals from Shelburne and Charlotte looking for the opportunity to sing a variety of music for pleasure in a non-competitive setting, with the intention of performing one or two concerts a year for the benefit of the community.
That vision took shape under the direction of Carl Recchia, CVU’s choral director. In 1999, Carl passed the baton to Rufus Patrick, who has continued to stretch and challenge the chorus and delight audiences with concerts that offer a wide variety of music from different genres.
